Emalahleni Housing Company gives back to the community on Mandela Day
On 18 July 2016, the staff of Emalahleni Housing Company traded their regular work routine for practical community work in honour of International Mandela Day.
The social housing company, was joined by the Provincial Department of Human Settlements and Emalahleni Local Municipality and assisted to construct and paint houses for impoverished households. The team later donated groceries, clothing and blankets to welfare organisations within the municipality.
The event was graced by the MEC for Department of Human Settlements, Ms VS Siwela who handed out blankets in Ext 11, KwaGuqa.
Some of the beneficiaries include Eligugu Old Age Home, Shiramangwe Clewer, Sizakancane Vosman, Faith Fitness and Health Empowerment, Vukuzithathe Clewer Primary, Sphumelele Centre and Kabod House.
Emalahleni Housing Company Chief Executive Officer, Mr George Xaba was happy that his organisation worked towards the vision of former president, Mr Nelson Mandela of a better life for all and expressed his gratitude to the institution’s sponsors, Pennypinchers (Witbank), Organic Architects, MCC Security & Projects, Harvey Nortje Wagner & Motimele Attorneys, Gemeni Trading, IP Solutions, Live Life Love Water, Travel Counsellors, Nashua, SFC Engineers, Mphakathi Tours, Maxi Motors, SBN Architects, Emcaf Graphics, A-Mark Innovations, Canaan Kids Creche and Masibuyisane Services.
